Machine Learning Implementation:

In Experimental Particle Physics

Machine Learning as a branch of Artificial Intelligence has been and is an essential tool in the analysis of experimental data in High Energy Physics. Especially for its success in experiments, such as the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), where large amounts of data are generated. These data are used to study and understand the main components of matter. This seminar introduces concepts of theoretical and experimental particle physics to an audience more familiar with data science. Key Machine Learning models and their implementations are also presented. Of which many models will be applied to different tasks such as particle identification and tracking, jet tagging, anomaly detection, triggering, among others.
