In this study we present a macroeconomic model in the context of an epidemic, Macro-SIR, for Colombia. The model is based on the recent study by Eichenbaum, Rebelo, and Trabandt (2020), applied to the Colombian case. Our main contributions to the literature and the conjunctural analysis are the calibration method for the parameters of the epidemiological model inferred from the observed series of deaths and the development of extensions of the model involving a monetary policy component and a public spending and debt component.
